A Review on the Research of Hydrometallurgical Leaching of …

Nitric acid is both a strong acid and a strong oxidant, and is widely used in the leaching of copper sulfide ore. However, the nitrogen oxides produced during the leaching process of nitric acid are not easy to recover. Therefore, the economic and environmental friendliness of leaching copper with nitric acid is poor.

Effect of Magnesium on Pressure Leaching of Moa Laterite Ore

Abstract. The magnesium content of laterite ore has a significant impact on the quantity of sulphuric acid required to achieve the target nickel extraction by the high pressure acid leach (HPAL) process, both through direct consumption of acid when magnesium-bearing minerals are dissolved and through "buffering" effects via bisulphate …

Sulphide Leaching

The oxidizing action of nitric acid and nitrates can be utilized to leach sulphides, but this is seldom adopted because of costs. 4. Concentrated sulphuric acid: Most sulphides are oxidized to sulphate. From the sulphated ore, all of the zinc, copper and iron can be leached with water while lead, silver, gold and antimony will remain in the ...

Heap Leaching

The copper heap leaching, solvent extraction, and electrowinning process has revolutionized the copper industry and significantly reduced the capital and operating costs for the production of copper from low-grade ores.A schematic of a typical heap leach/SX/EW operation is shown in Fig. 4.29.The SX part of the flowsheet recovers …
